Our goal and philosophies

Many martial arts schools have been teaching the same old curriculum for decades without question, but here at K1 Karate we are always asking ourselves a number of questions such as, “Is this practical?”, “Is this relevant in todays world?” or just simply, “Is there a better way?”

Whether it’s for competition or for real life self defense, our goal is to maintain the most up to date, practical, and evidence based skills and curriculum possible.

We still hold on to many of the traditions that make karate great, as well as work hard to make our school a community of supportive friends and families, and to develop other life skill in all of our students like discipline, respect, effort, patience, long term goal setting, and building confidence.
